We are in Florida.  We saw a manatee.  We also saw (and ate) alligators.

Isaac sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (with hand motions), the Wheels on the Bus, and Row Row Your Boat (with screams for crocodile). It might be more accurate to say that he hums, because each word in tune is 'Rar'.

Looking after the kids is satisfying because it's like the work of prehistoric man - hunting for food and protecting genetic relations - before the specialisation of tasks like government procurement. If everybody is alive at the end of the day, and roughly as healthy as before, that's a successful day.

Today Dylan said: 'I don't have everything. I have everything I want'.

Clare gave Matt a voucher for a flying lesson for his birthday.

The airstrip seems to be much as it was in World War II. There is a sort of officer's cafe behind Dylan and Isaac, where we had breakfast. The cafe includes a bar with spirits!

Matt's plane was only 15 or so yards behind the white fence next to Dylan and Isaac.

Tie Story

Over the past fifteen or so years, Matt has enjoyed a collection of ties given to him by Bryce. At last, just a few months ago, Matt donated the collection to charity.

Unexpectedly, on Saturday morning, Matt needed a tie. So he walked to the charity shop and bought one of his own. It was perfect for dinner in the Strand.

Clare was away at Cat's hen party, so Matt met up with Damien, Kitty, et al.
