Verneda and Russell Beaman 60 years

Verneda and Russell celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a bocce ball tournament and family barbecue hosted by their children at the Martinez home of Patrick and Diane Phelps.

The couple had known one another two weeks when they married on August 10, 1946. Verneda is retired after 27 years with Montgomery Ward. Russell retired from Tosco Oil Company after 37 years.

Verneda and Russell spend six months out of the year in Brentwood, and six months in Palm Springs. They are enjoying retirement though travel, playing bocce ball, pickle ball and golf, and spending time with daughter Diane (Patrick) Phelps, son Steve (Bennie) Beaman, and their four grandsons Matt (Clare) Phelps, Brian (Karen) Phelps, Trevor (Kathy) Cook and Urian Beaman, and great grandson Ian Cook.
