This week's photos are of intubation, a bench in Stratford, and a mosque in Tower Hamlets.

The historian doubts Matt’s report on cricket, but he agrees that the game is wondrous. For example, if it rains a long enough period of time, then England will win the ashes. This astonishing rule takes into account all of nature, expanding the game into the sky. Yesterday, when the weather turned nasty, people in London shouted for joy. What kind of a sport is that? A wondrous one, surely.
